Build one rule around one useful event
Choose a precise trigger and describe the result in ordinary language. For example, a qualified enquiry might create a follow-up task for its assigned salesperson. Define the conditions that must be true and what should happen when required information is missing. Test a representative record and a case that should not trigger the rule. Starting with a bounded workflow makes unexpected behaviour easier to find and correct.
Design the exception route before switching it on
An automated action can fail, arrive twice or become inappropriate after a record changes. Decide how the responsible person will see that condition and what a safe retry means. Review who can create or edit rules and keep a readable explanation of their purpose. Actions involving money, contracts, sensitive information or material customer commitments may still need an explicit human approval. Periodic reviews help retire rules that no longer match the business.
