Choose events that answer real questions
Identify the actions that matter to your process: permission changes, important record updates, document decisions or integration activity. Confirm which events the deployment records and the detail available for each. Actor and timestamp information becomes more useful when it can be connected to a specific record and action. Keep time zones and identifiers consistent enough for a reviewer to follow an event across related workflows.
Protect the evidence and its context
Audit information can itself contain sensitive details. Limit access to people who need to review it and define appropriate retention and export handling. Avoid placing passwords, full message bodies or other unnecessary secrets into operational logs. A log entry is one piece of evidence, not an automatic explanation of intent. Investigations may also need the record history, relevant communications and the context of an approved change.
