Confirm the environment and the handover
Identify the exact Sage product, relevant account structure and the connection methods available to your organisation. Then decide how customer identifiers, invoice references and commercial values should map. Agree when a record is ready to leave CRM and whether finance approval is required first. Keep the source of truth clear for changes to customer details, tax settings and accounting codes so staff know where to make a correction.
Validate before exchanging live records
Use sample cases that reflect your actual work, including an amended invoice, an existing customer and a rejected record. Define what a successful exchange looks like and what the team sees when it fails. Logs and reference identifiers should help someone investigate without exposing unnecessary customer information. Confirm supported objects, exchange direction, timing and any additional development in the implementation scope rather than assuming every Sage edition behaves the same way.
