Make the sales-to-onboarding handover explicit
Record what the customer is buying, the stakeholders involved and the commitments made during the sales process. Turn the agreed implementation scope into a project with owners, milestones and customer responsibilities. Keep dependencies and changes visible so the onboarding team can explain progress accurately. Connect recurring billing to the commercial agreement, and define who approves changes before a different amount or schedule reaches the customer.
Separate relationship records from product telemetry
Use support tickets and account history to understand unresolved questions and important decisions. If customer usage, entitlements or product events need to appear in the workflow, scope that exchange through an appropriate integration. Decide which system controls access to the product and how changes are reconciled. A CRM record should not be treated as an automatic replacement for the application's billing, identity or provisioning service without a deliberate design.
