Build the job record around the actual movement
Agree which customer, consignee, route and shipment details your operation needs. Keep instructions and document references with the relevant job, and define who checks them before work begins. Bilty requirements can differ by business and location, so confirm the fields, format and approval process during scoping. Delivery evidence should identify the event it supports rather than becoming an unlabelled attachment in a general customer folder.
Resolve exceptions with the right information
A changed instruction, missing document or disputed delivery needs a visible owner and next action. Connect that operational issue to the customer relationship so service and finance understand its effect. Decide which information can be shared externally and which remains internal. If the workflow depends on carriers, tracking providers or another transport system, assess the integration separately, including update frequency, matching identifiers and how the team handles an unavailable feed.
