Define the product and access rules
Identify the file or digital item, its version and the conditions under which the customer can access it. Agree which payment event allows fulfilment and how the recipient is linked to the order. The delivery message should explain what is available, how to access it and where to ask for help. Review the journey using a representative purchase before making it available to customers.
Plan exceptions after the sale
A failed payment, refund, replaced file or lost access request can change what the customer should receive. Decide who can resolve each issue and what evidence is needed. Download controls help manage access, but they cannot guarantee that a recipient will never copy material after receiving it. Keep the product terms, support process and technical controls aligned, and avoid exposing private storage paths or reusable unrestricted links in public pages.
