Agree the schedule before automating it
Record what is billed, when the first invoice should be raised and whether the service has an end date. Check how weekends, month lengths and changes in quantities should be handled. Confirm who receives the document and whether a purchase-order reference needs renewal. Start with a small representative set of customers and review the first generated invoices against the agreement before expanding the schedule.
Give changes a controlled route
A customer may pause a service, change its scope or end an agreement. Decide who can edit the schedule and how the change affects future invoices. Keep an eye on failed generation, delivery issues and invoices created after a service should have stopped. A recurring invoice is a billing document; collecting money automatically requires a separately configured payment or subscription arrangement. Keeping that distinction visible prevents misleading expectations for customers and staff.
