Before you start

Required access: Run tax calculations; appropriate viewing and acknowledgement access. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.

How to request HMRC calculations and read Assist feedback

  1. Select the taxpayer, tax year and authority. Choose In-year calculation, Intent to finalise / final declaration calculation, or Intent to amend as appropriate.
  2. Choose Trigger HMRC calculation and retain the returned calculation identifier.
  3. Under HMRC Assist feedback enter Tax year, HMRC calculation ID and HMRC authority; choose Generate HMRC Assist.
  4. Open the full report and read all recommendations and official guidance links.
  5. Confirm that the complete report was displayed and choose Acknowledge complete report to HMRC.

Controls and limits

  • Acknowledgement records that the report was shown; it does not assert that every recommendation has been resolved.
  • Use the calculation and report for the same taxpayer and tax year. Customer acknowledgement is available through the authorised Tax Centre.

Check the result

Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.

If you cannot continue

Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
