How to create, calculate, validate and authorise a return
For your Pixie CRM team: Follow the Returns & Filing → Open workflow in Pixie CRM to create, calculate, validate and authorise a return.
Before you start
Required access: Prepare; Calculate; Validate; Record authorized signatures as applicable. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.
How to create, calculate, validate and authorise a return
- Under Create return workspace select Taxpayer, Authority, Jurisdiction, Tax type, Return type, Tax year and Processing year.
- Set Period start, Period end, Period reference and the matching Obligation; choose Create return and Open.
- In Verified tax-rule calculation select a Projection or Generate annual projection automatically, then choose Calculate.
- Choose Run validation and resolve each Seven-layer readiness gate blocker.
- Review the exact return and declaration. Select Authorized signer and the signed document required for this return version.
- Confirm the displayed declaration and choose Authorize version. Recheck the frozen version and authorisation evidence.
Controls and limits
- Tax year and processing year are distinct. Rules, schema and capability must match the exact filing combination.
- Source, calculation or validation changes can invalidate authorisation. Pending adjustments or stale evidence must be resolved before signing.
Check the result
Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.
If you cannot continue
Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
