How to map ledger accounts and generate a tax projection
For your Pixie CRM team: Follow the Accounting Projection workflow in Pixie CRM to map ledger accounts and generate a tax projection.
Before you start
Required access: Reconcile accounting projections / applicable mapping permission. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.
How to map ledger accounts and generate a tax projection
- Review Accounting source readiness and Projection controls.
- Under Map ledger account select Taxpayer, Ledger account and Tax category: Income, Expense, Payroll or Other.
- Select Normal-balance treatment and optional Tax type; choose Save mapping.
- Under Generate tax projection select Taxpayer, Period start and Period end; choose Generate projection.
- Review source lineage, totals, unmapped records and reconciliation before calculating a return.
Controls and limits
- Category default uses credit minus debit for income and debit minus credit for expense/payroll. Absolute activity must be a deliberate appropriate choice.
- A projection derives from scoped source evidence and does not replace the ledger. Resolve ambiguous mappings and source changes before filing.
Check the result
Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.
If you cannot continue
Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
