How to assess nexus and record apportionment evidence
For your Pixie CRM team: Follow the Nexus & Apportionment workflow in Pixie CRM to assess nexus and record apportionment evidence.
Before you start
Required access: Manage nexus and state presence. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.
How to assess nexus and record apportionment evidence
- Record State presence evidence using Taxpayer, State, Presence type, Start date and Evidence note.
- Under Run verified nexus rules select Taxpayer and Tax year; choose Evaluate nexus.
- For a manual threshold review enter State, Nexus type, Rule version, Threshold and Observed, then Create review assessment.
- Under Record calculation evidence enter the state/year, Method, rule version and applicable sales, property, payroll and apportionment factors; choose Save evidence.
- Inspect Nexus evaluations and resolve review-required conclusions before downstream filing.
Controls and limits
- A recorded threshold comparison is review evidence, not an automatic legal conclusion.
- Rules must match jurisdiction and effective period. Manual factors and notes do not establish a verified statutory calculation by themselves.
Check the result
Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.
If you cannot continue
Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
