Pixie Accounting & Practice Management: choose your setup

Start with the work you want Pixie to do. These guides explain three distinct setups, the decisions each requires and how to check the result before relying on it.

1. Run your practice with CRM

Choose this model when your team needs a clear view of clients, engagements, documents, recurring work, responsibilities and fees. You can keep your existing bookkeeping or tax-filing software while organising the work around it.

Start with one service and map the journey from onboarding to preparation, review and completion. Configure the CRM capabilities and agree any specialist practice-module requirements before rollout.

Follow the CRM and practice-management setup guide →

2. Connect practice management with the books

Choose this model when you also need the Accounting & Bookkeeping workspace. It connects the agreed source transactions to account mappings, ledger records, banking, reconciliation and financial reports.

Establish the financial year, opening balances, permissions and ownership of each accounting record. Check representative transactions and corrections, then have the responsible accounting professional review the result. Enabling accounting does not automatically create a client software platform or authorise tax filing.

3. Offer a bespoke platform to your clients

Choose this model when your firm wants to offer client accounting and CRM software as part of its own service. The proposed structure includes separately controlled client workspaces, appropriate firm oversight and agreed roles, branding and integrations.

Scope each supported HMRC service, digital record flow, authorisation, approval and submission journey individually. The implementation needs production readiness checks and acceptance testing for access boundaries, filing responses and exceptions.

Understand what an HMRC workflow requires

Digital records, software connections and agent authority each have a different purpose. VAT returns, Income Tax quarterly updates and annual tax returns also have different requirements. Automation must preserve the required declarations and approval controls.

Confirm the available production route for the specific tax service before committing to delivery. A standard demo or successful sandbox example does not establish live filing readiness.

Choose the right demonstration

The standard demonstration covers CRM, practice-management workflows and accounting modules. It is a starting point for the first two setups.

An accounting firm planning its own client software service needs a customised demonstration and quotation. Bring your client types, current tools, tax services, access model, branding needs and proposed rollout. Agree what the demonstration must prove and what still needs implementation.

Request a standard demo or discuss a customised accounting-firm demo and quote.
