Track revenue contributions on an opportunity
Recognise the people behind an opportunity with a revenue allocation and separate overlay credit, while preserving normal record access.
Where to goSales CRM → Deals → Open opportunity → Revenue contributions
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Open an opportunity you can access and choose Revenue contributions.
- Review the allocation status, opportunity value and currency.
- Read Revenue allocation and Overlay recognition separately. Check each contributor, role, percentage and calculated credit.
- Use Edit allocation if you have permission to change the configuration.
- Use Reports → Contributions to review current allocations across an accessible set of opportunities.
Behavior and limits
- Revenue allocation divides exactly 100% of the opportunity value among one or more contributors. Overlay recognition is additional credit and is displayed separately; do not add it to revenue totals.
- Contributions are attribution records. They do not issue payments, calculate commissions, create accounting transactions or change opportunity ownership, probabilities, targets or owner forecasts.
- Adding a contributor does not grant that person access to the opportunity, customer, contacts or email. Existing Sales CRM viewing rules still apply.
- A configuration belongs to one opportunity in one workspace. It is not shared with another workspace. The feature is part of the native Sales CRM app wherever that app is available under the workspace’s existing access rules.
- Amounts use the current opportunity value and currency. Updating that value changes the displayed credit. The report is not a frozen record of historical commission.
- Inactive or unavailable staff remain identified in a saved allocation. Their percentages are not silently reassigned to somebody else.
- The latest 100 contribution actions show the actor, time, version and reason. History does not retain earlier note bodies or complete prior configurations.
Check it worked
- Confirm the revenue percentages total 100%.
- Check whether the configuration is Active or Retired before using it in a report.
- Confirm that the currency and current opportunity value are correct.
Troubleshooting
- If no allocation exists, an authorised editor can configure one. Nothing is created merely by opening the panel.
- If Edit allocation is unavailable, check Edit and Manage revenue contributions permissions and whether the opportunity is archived. No new staff permission is granted automatically.
- If a contributor is labelled unavailable, repair the configuration before saving changes or restoring it.
