Map answers to eligible products

Understand how guided questions intersect product choices and how to diagnose an empty result.

Before you start

Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.

Follow these steps

  1. For each answer, select the products that meet that answer’s condition.
  2. Include a product under more than one answer only where it fits both choices.
  3. Use a broad answer such as No preference only if its mapping deliberately includes every appropriate product.
  4. Explore the flow and answer the questions in different combinations.
  5. Inspect the criteria summary whenever the result is empty or narrower than expected.

Behavior and limits

  • The product set becomes narrower as questions are answered. A product must appear in the selected answer’s mapping for every answered question.
  • For example, if one answer allows products A and B and another allows B and C, the combined result contains B.
  • A product allowed by the first answer but excluded by another is not shown. No score or weighting overrides that intersection.
  • Unanswered questions do not filter the product set, but quotation selection remains unavailable until every question is answered.
  • Mappings refer to current products in the current price book. Removing a mapped product from the book or native catalogue requires a flow repair.
  • Required companions, exclusions and suggested products in the price book remain separate quotation rules. A guided result alone does not guarantee a valid final product combination.
  • Product descriptions shown in recommendations are limited to 2,000 characters. Use the native catalogue when more detail is needed.

Check it worked

  • Test a combination expected to return one product, a broader combination and a deliberate no-match combination.
  • Confirm every required companion is included later in the quotation before calculation.
  • Check that changes to the catalogue have been reflected in the flow.

Troubleshooting

  • If no products match, change the relevant answer or ask an administrator to review overly restrictive mappings.
  • If a result seems unexpected, compare the product’s inclusion across every selected answer.
  • Do not add unrelated products to an answer merely to avoid an empty result; correct the question or mapping to reflect the actual offering.
