Open a forecast submission period
Create a fixed revenue forecasting period with one currency and an optional pipeline or territory scope.
Where to goSales CRM → Forecast & targets → Submissions & review → Open period
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Enter a recognisable period name, such as November revenue forecast.
- Select one configured currency and the inclusive start and end dates.
- Choose All pipelines or one active pipeline. Choose All territories or one active territory, optionally including its current active descendants.
- Review the dates and scope carefully, then select Open period. These settings are fixed after creation.
- Tell your sales team which period to use through your usual communication process. The application does not send an automatic notification.
Behavior and limits
- A period supports 1–367 inclusive days. The workspace supports 100 periods, including closed periods.
- Periods are separate from existing Live forecast & targets. Opening a period does not alter targets, deal values, ownership, native records or existing forecasts.
- Each period has one currency. There is no currency conversion or combined total across periods.
- All authorised Sales CRM viewers can see period definitions; submission visibility follows own versus all-deal viewing permissions.
- Dates and scope cannot be edited. If a definition is wrong, close it with a clear reason and create the correct period.
- Period creation uses a retry reference to avoid duplicates when the same save request is retried.
Check it worked
- Confirm the name, dates, currency, pipeline scope and territory count in the period header.
- Confirm its state is Open and the submission button is available.
Troubleshooting
- If a pipeline or territory is unavailable, choose an active configuration or ask an administrator to review Sales setup.
- A period-limit error requires reviewing the forecasting process; closing periods preserves history and does not free a slot.
- If the result of a save is uncertain, refresh the period list before creating another period.
