Understand forecast evidence and totals
Read live and recorded pipeline figures correctly, including closing dates, omissions, currencies and accepted totals.
Where to goSales CRM → Forecast & targets → Submissions & review → Your current pipeline evidence or View history
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Read the period dates, currency and scope before interpreting values.
- Use Won in period for deals currently Won whose actual closing date falls within the period.
- Use Eligible open pipeline for currently open, non-omitted deals whose expected close date falls within the period.
- Use Weighted open pipeline for each eligible deal value multiplied by its win probability, rounded to two decimals before summing.
- Treat Open commit and Open best case as subsets of eligible open pipeline. Omitted open deals are shown separately.
- Read Accepted forecast and Awaiting review separately; pending replacement estimates can overlap owners already included in Accepted forecast.
Behavior and limits
- Archived deals are excluded. Lost deals do not contribute. The currency, pipeline and saved territory classification must match the period scope.
- Won revenue uses actual closing date. Open revenue uses expected close date. This intentionally differs from the existing Live forecast view, which uses expected close dates for its period filter.
- Your current pipeline evidence covers your own opportunities, including when you can view all deals. The team submission table can include other owners when your permissions allow it.
- Evidence shown in the period refreshes on opening or Refresh. Evidence recorded with a submitted version remains as it was measured at submission time.
- Counts and money are calculated on the server. Currency totals remain separate, and monetary values are not combined using currency conversion.
- The accepted total sums the latest effective approved amount for each visible owner. It is not automatically calculated from weighted pipeline or native sales targets.
- These are forecasts of sales revenue, not cash receipts or invoice payments.
Check it worked
- Compare a representative open deal’s value, probability, expected close, forecast category, currency and archive status with the evidence.
- For a won deal, check its actual closed date rather than only its expected close date.
Troubleshooting
- If live evidence differs from recorded evidence, check for subsequent deal edits, stage changes, reassignment, archive changes or territory reclassification.
- If the total seems doubled, ensure you have not added pending replacements to accepted values.
- A zero amount can be valid when no current own opportunities match the scope.
