Configure sales territories and members
Organise sales coverage with a territory hierarchy, matching rules and eligible assignment members.
Where to goSales CRM → Sales setup → Territories & routing → Add territory
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Enter a clear territory name, such as Enterprise UK. Choose an existing parent when a hierarchy is useful.
- Select the staff members who may receive deals through round-robin routing. Leave membership empty for classification-only territories.
- Build the matching conditions. For example, match Currency Equals GBP and a qualifying deal-value threshold using All conditions.
- Save the territory and open a matching deal to check that its name appears under Matches.
- Use Configure territory to update members or rules. Choose Retired when the territory should no longer be offered for new routing.
Behavior and limits
- A workspace supports up to 100 territories, including retired entries, with up to 100 members per territory.
- Territories cannot be their own ancestor. Circular parent relationships are rejected.
- Parents organise the directory only. Conditions, members, permissions and record access are not inherited.
- Members must already be active staff with Sales CRM viewing permission. Membership grants no additional CRM access.
- Retiring or changing a territory does not automatically reassign existing deals. Existing classifications remain visible.
- Rules produce recommendations. Deal routing is applied explicitly by a user with View all deals and Edit permissions.
Check it worked
- Open a matching deal and confirm the territory appears as a recommendation.
- Confirm the territory card shows the intended parent and member count.
Troubleshooting
- A member missing from selection may be inactive, not a staff member, or lack Sales CRM access. Review the existing staff role before selecting them.
- A deal may match a territory but have no eligible recipient because native customer or lead access is more restrictive.
- A stale-configuration message means another administrator saved first. Reload the territory and reapply your intended change.
