Create and edit a revenue allocation
Assign contributors and roles, calculate exact credits and explicitly review the result before saving.
Where to goSales CRM → Opportunity → Revenue contributions → Configure or Edit allocation
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Open Revenue contributions and choose Configure allocation or Edit allocation.
- Add the staff members who should share revenue. Enter a clear contribution role and percentage for each person.
- Optionally add Overlay recognition rows for separate supporting contributions.
- Enter an optional note explaining the agreement.
- Choose Calculate & review. Check every calculated credit, the total revenue and the separate overlay total.
- Confirm the review checkbox and save.
- Reopen the panel and confirm the saved version, percentages, note and active state.
Behavior and limits
- Revenue needs 1–20 unique staff members and percentages totalling exactly 100%. Each percentage must be positive and may use up to two decimal places.
- Overlay recognition allows up to 20 unique staff members. Its total may be at most 1,000%. A person may appear once in each type.
- Choose current active staff with Sales CRM View or View Own access. Their viewing permission does not imply they can access this particular opportunity.
- A role is required for every row and can contain up to 100 characters. The optional note can contain up to 2,000 characters.
- Calculation is read-only. Changing the form invalidates its previous preview; calculate and review again before saving.
- Saving checks the current opportunity version, allocation version, amount, currency and contributor details. A change by another editor requires a fresh review.
- Existing won or lost opportunities may be configured by an authorised editor. Restore an archived opportunity before changing contributions.
- Editing a retired allocation repairs its configuration but keeps it retired. Use the separate Restore action when it is ready for reports.
- Successful retries of the most recent save request return the completed result instead of duplicating history. Reopen the current record after an uncertain or older request.
Check it worked
- Make sure roles describe the contributors’ actual involvement.
- Check that the allocation sums to the displayed opportunity value after rounding.
- Confirm that the saved status is the one you intended.
Troubleshooting
- If the total is below or above 100%, adjust revenue percentages before calculating.
- If a contributor became inactive or lost Sales CRM access, select an eligible person and review the revised allocation.
- If the version or preview changed, reopen the current allocation, apply the intended changes and calculate again.
- If linked-record access changed, resolve that through the normal customer or opportunity access workflow; adding a contribution does not bypass it.
