Explore parent and subsidiary customer accounts
Navigate recorded company relationships alongside customer contact maps in native Sales CRM.
Where to goSales CRM → Relationships → Account hierarchy → Find customers
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Pixie CRM workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Open Relationships and select Account hierarchy.
- Search for an existing customer and choose Open account hierarchy on the intended result.
- Read the selected customer card, its recorded parent above and accessible direct subsidiaries below.
- Select a parent, ancestor-path button or subsidiary card to open that customer’s hierarchy.
- Choose View contact reporting map to explore people at the same customer, or use the relationship-type buttons to switch views.
Behavior and limits
- Each existing customer can have one recorded parent, and a parent may have multiple direct subsidiaries. Customers with no parent begin independent branches.
- The hierarchy is stored within the current workspace and references native customer records. It does not create duplicate companies or change native customer fields.
- Company relationships are recorded explicitly by authorised staff. They are not automatically inferred from names, domains, contacts or public company data.
- Read access requires both Sales CRM viewing and current native customer access. A relationship never grants access to its parent, subsidiaries, contacts, portal, mailbox or opportunities.
- Account hierarchy records company relationships. Contact reporting maps record relationships between people. Neither changes internal staff reporting or security roles.
- This feature does not combine account balances, invoices, contacts, deal values or forecasts across companies. Those remain attached to their existing records.
- Current and future eligible workspaces receive this native module through existing universal registration. Normal login, subscription, staff permissions and explicit workspace disable settings still apply.
Check it worked
- Confirm the customer name and recorded parent before relying on the structure.
- Check that you are in Account hierarchy when reviewing company relationships.
- Open a subsidiary to verify its parent points back to the intended customer.
Troubleshooting
- If a company is absent from search, refine its name or check native customer access. Search returns up to 50 accessible matches.
- No parent customer recorded means no relationship is recorded here; it does not establish legal independence or ownership.
- A Parent path incomplete warning means traversal stopped at an unavailable relationship or a structure needing review.
- If the customer has no contact map, an authorised contact-map editor can create one separately.
